Ruth McKenzie

1975-1977 / 3 Year Bible College Diploma, Diploma in Theology (MCD) (Henderson Campus)

I remember our great group of lecturers, the lifelong friendships formed with fellow students, and the serious times of study combined with fun and laughter. I grew in my ability to understand God's Word a little more, and the realisation that there is always much more to learn. Above all, BCNZ was an opportunity to know more of who I am, and to know that God loves me and wants to do His work of love in me despite my frailty and weaknesses.

Eighteen months after leaving College I joined Interserve, and worked as a physiotherapist in CMC Hospital, Ludhiana, Punjab, India for seven years, then three years in the main Government Hospital in Thimphu, Bhutan. I returned to NZ in 1989 and worked ten years in Hastings Hospital, then seven years in Auckland working for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. That was followed by fourteen years working for Waikato DHB, based in Te Kuiti, where I was mainly involved with Community Physiotherapy.

I retired just over a year ago and am now living in a Lifestyle Village in Cambridge. I’m grateful for God's faithfulness in all situations.
