1963-1964 / Diploma in Theology (LTh, Melbourne) (Henderson Campus)
Two years of full-time study of the Word of God was a blessing. I remember the lecturers – Rev. Burrows who taught me Greek, and Rev. Frank England who lectured on the New Testament. The whole class gave a sigh of regret when it was over. On the humorous side, I remember Len Currie's evening devotion on ‘meditation,’ complete with a large drawing of a cow's four stomachs!
I also had the honour of cleaning Miss Jagger's flat, and one day I accidentally rubbed a little bit of boot polish on the wallpaper instead of the shelf!
The photo I have included is of the Tokoroa Mission Team in August 1964. I had plenty of opportunities at BTI to use my giftings in children's work.

My studies equipped me with an overview of the Bible, which has stood me in good stead in my teaching and children's work over the years. My whole life has been devoted to teaching children. My husband, Frank, and I worked in Child Evangelism Fellowship for many years. In our first year of marriage, we spoke at eleven children's camps and at many others over the years.
After my children reached school age I went back to school teaching, and even had the privilege of taking my own class for Bible in Schools. Thirty years ago I trained as a SPELD teacher, teaching students with dyslexia. I am still teaching them and still loving it. I am also teaching Sunday School and training teenagers in children's work.
I am grateful that I am a child of God. I love the verse, 'no man can snatch you out of my hands'.
